MOKO Acquires SendMe's mbuzzy Mobile Community
SendMe sells mbuzzy.com to Australian-based mobile social media company MOKO.mobi
SAN FRANCISCO, August 1, 2011 - SendMe Inc. announced that it has reached an agreement with Australia-based mobile social media company MOKO.mobi (ASX:MKB) to sell SendMe's mobile community mbuzzy.com in exchange for ten percent of MKB issued shares. The acquisition of mbuzzy will allow MOKO.mobi's to extend the company’s presence to the U.S., while enabling SendMe to focus exclusively on its core mobile content business, which continues to grow at an unprecedented rate.
The acquisition positions SendMe Inc. as a major shareholder in MOKO.mobi, with SendMe CEO Russell Klein joining the MOKO board of directors.
mbuzzy.com is one of the top 10 mobile websites in the U.S., with more than seven million registered mobile users. The deal will bring MOKO.mobi's global mobile user base to over twelve million registered users, while solidifying the company’s presence in the U.S.
